Ramblings II

You would think that 25 years of life experience would have taught us a thing or 2 about living.... and how to deal with people and relationships.

And then comes love, which reduces a normally sane person to an irrational being, doing the most ridiculous, retarded and outrageous things.

In a way, we are all doomed to repeat the same relationship patterns time after time. U tell your inner psyche not to commit the same mistakes, your brain registers the input... but somehow, your heart takes over and you find yourself in the same predicament all over, time after time.

At the end of it all, we all masochists and we thrive on torturing our souls and destroying ourselves. and that is just plain depressing.

Ramblings

4 years in hall... never touched a takraw ball before... until this week. Why didnt i play it sooner? it's actually quite fun.... realised i'm not totally pathetic and hopeless with ball games after all...

Work is starting next tuesday. And its fucking scaring the shit out of me. Quarter life crisis do indeed exist. You leave school. Your whole identity as a student is lost... you have leave behind frens in hall... and make new ones all over again at work, which is a pain in the ass. u have to re-adjust to staying at home. alone. and u realise that is fucking boring. you dunno if u have chosen the right job. you dunno what you want and you really dunno who u are anymore.

but then again.... you cant be too certain about anything in life, right? the ball is round. anything can happen. good, bad.... watever. u just have to take things one at a time... at least thats what i tell myself.

Whirlwind adventure

So... 16 days of whirlwind adventure just went by like that. Enjoyed myself thoroughly.... didnt think i would survive the trip, esp since i almost died of exhaustion in Taiwan. But truth be told, this is one of the best trips EVER.

I've conquered world wonders in the wee hours of the morning, having the whole Angkor Wat to the 3 of us....

discovering soon-to-be world wonders in Vietnam @ Ha Long Bay...

seen amazing sights in Indonesia... geographical features that would make nature lovers hyperventilate

volcanoes...
headland and bays...

gorgeous sunsets....
hot springs....

and alien looking trees...

visited killing fields in Cambodia....

crawled through claustrophic tunnels at Cu Chi in Ho Chi Minh

visited National Monuments...

and even circled round one 3 times for no apparent reason. ... seriously testing my patience.

dined in style at Jimbaran... best dinner ever, with crashing waves, spectacular fireworks in the distance and what else.... Bintang beer...

and somewhere in the mountain, overlooking the city of Bandung...

enjoying the simple life on top a junk boat...
watch kids in Siem Reap having fun with with own version of the amusement park...
and take the most primitive of transport...

did things i never thought i had the guts to do...

and even surfing!! That's like totally AWESOME dude....

and a very relaxing day at the hot springs..

ate like we've never eaten before...

PS: we did really eat crickets... wasnt as bad as i thot, but dun think i will ever do it again..

Oon curry... "hao chi ma?" hahaha (private joke)

and tasty roadside food... ahhh martabak manis. how i've missed you so...

But more importantly,
its the people who were on this trip...
that made it so memorable,
so fun, so crazy.... so... aye. choked up.

getting to know old frens...

Dismas u crazy shit.... seriously. i love u to death

and making new ones in a foreign land...

Thanks guys, I really had tonnes of fun. seriously.... no regrets. I would do it again in a heartbeat if i had to.
